用法

　　point作名詞，詞義非常豐富，常用詞義有：

　　表示“尖頭”，如：the point of a pin 針尖

　　表示“小數(shù)點(diǎn)”，如：five point one two 5.12

　　表示“點(diǎn)、時(shí)刻”，如：a turning point 轉(zhuǎn)折點(diǎn)

　　表示“（計(jì)量度數(shù)的）點(diǎn)、度”，如：the freezing point 冰點(diǎn)

　　表示“分?jǐn)?shù)、得分”，如：score 10 points （比賽）得10分

　　point作名詞時(shí)的常用搭配：

　　at the point of（就要…的時(shí)候），如：She was at the point of leaving when I arrived. 當(dāng)我到達(dá)時(shí)，她正要離開(kāi)。

　　in point（適當(dāng)?shù)模�，如：a case in point 一個(gè)適當(dāng)?shù)氖吕?/p>

　　make a point of（必定要…），如：Father makes a point of going to bed before ten. 父親必定在十點(diǎn)以前睡覺(jué)。

　　point作動(dòng)詞，有以下幾個(gè)意思：

　　表示“用手指…”，如：It’s rude to point at people. 用手指人是不禮貌的。

　　表示“指向…、對(duì)著…”，如：point one’s finger at 用手指…

　　表示“削尖、磨尖”，如：point a pencil 把鉛筆削尖
